Why do we love our stay at Mercure Nottingham City Centre Hotel?

The room was great!

The room was great! The beds were comfortable and clean and the bathroom was spacious, with plenty of towels. There was also a tv in the room which I liked because it meant I could watch Netflix in bed.

The hotel is in a great location – close to both the City Centre and the train station. It’s also only about 15 minutes walk from Wollaton Hall & Park. This is worth visiting if your interest is in architecture or history.

The staffs were lovely.

My experience at Mercure Nottingham City Centre Hotel truly was above and beyond my expectations. The staffs were lovely, especially their receptionist who checked me in and out of the hotel on both occasions. She was very friendly and helpful to me during my stay – she even gave me some discount vouchers for a local restaurant!

The staffs were also professional and polite; they didn’t seem like they would do anything shady behind your back as soon as you turned around. They were attentive and responsive when I asked for something from them; for example, when I wanted extra pillows because I couldn’t sleep with just one pillow under my head as usual people do in hotels (why would anyone want to use one pillow at night?), they immediately brought me two more pillows without any hesitation whatsoever!

The breakfast was delicious.

I had breakfast at the Mercure Nottingham City Centre Hotel and it was delicious. A good choice for a hotel, the breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming when I arrived at the hotel which made my stay even more enjoyable.

The bathroom was spotless.

I don’t know how they did it, but the bathroom was spotless. The shower was great, and there was plenty of hot water. The toilet looked like it had been cleaned recently (which is impressive given how much time it takes me to make sure my toilet seat is clean).

In addition to the general tidiness of the room, there were some other small touches that I appreciated: a desk lamp with two USB ports so you can charge your phone while you work; a USB charging port in each bedside table lamp which makes charging easy for those who are worried about having enough battery left for their alarm clock; plenty of power points throughout the room.

The bed was comfy.

The bed was comfortable. The pillows were soft, not too firm or soft. The blankets were warm and cosy. The duvet was soft, not too thick or thin. The bed was big enough for two people to sleep comfortably on opposite sides of the roomy king-size mattress. If you’re alone, you have plenty of space for yourself.

Near Attractions to Visit

Six Barrel Drafthouse

If you’re looking for somewhere to go and relax, I would highly recommend the Six Barrel Drafthouse. It’s a bar and restaurant near the Lace Market—a historic part of Nottingham that was built in the 15th century. The Lace Market is very popular with tourists visiting Nottingham, but it’s also a great place to grab lunch or dinner if you live locally.

The atmosphere at Six Barrel Drafthouse is great: there are lots of different choices when it comes to drinks (lots of beers) and food (a wide range), and both our drinks and food were fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced! The staff is friendly too; they’ll even give you some recommendations if you’re stuck for ideas!

Galleries of Justice

The Galleries of Justice is a museum in Nottingham that tells the story of crime and punishment in England from medieval times to the present day.

The museum is housed in the former courthouse and prison, which was built between 1829 and 1832 by William Smith (1787–1858) for an estimated cost of £12,000 (£1.97 million as of 2010). The building was designed to accommodate both courts of law and prisoners; it had seven floors with cells on each floor.

The Galleries are home to thousands of artefacts from past centuries such as weapons used by criminals, gibbets, and iron cages used for executions at public hangings outside Newgate Prison (from where they were moved).

Old Market Square

Old Market Square is one of the largest and most important squares in Europe. Located at the heart of the city, it has been a marketplace for centuries. Nowadays, visitors come here to take a walk around, shop for souvenirs or enjoy some good food at one of the many restaurants located around the square.

The Old Market Square undergo recnovations several times over its history and nowadays it looks much more modern than its original design. However, there are still some buildings that have remained untouched by the time such as the Town Hall tower which dates back to the 13th century!
