If you’re looking to get your history fixed, Southwell Minster & Archbishop’s Palace is an absolute must. This cathedral was built in AD 653 and has been a place of worship ever since. It’s also one of the few cathedrals not to be destroyed during the English Civil War. Today, it stands as one of the country’s best-preserved medieval buildings.
You can take a tour through its grounds, including its beautiful garden, which is one of the designs by Capability Brown in 1765. It’s some serious inspiration when landscaping your garden! Nottingham Cathedral is a large Gothic church in the city of Nottingham, England. The church is the mother church of the Anglican Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. It is dedicated to St. Mary and Saint George and is a Grade I-listed building.
The present building was constructed between 1480 and 1519 for John Morton, Archbishop of Canterbury under Henry VII, and other periods of construction until 1826 when the spire was added to designs by architect Joseph Hansom (1803–1882). It has official designation by English Heritage as a grade I listed building.

St. Mary’s Church is one of the most beautiful churches in the city. The name refers both to the building and its parish. It is located in the centre of Nottingham and has been standing since 1310 AD when it was founded by Hugh Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster (who later built Eaton Hall).
The church is in Grade I list status in 1953 because of its architectural importance. It’s one of the few medieval churches remaining within the city walls. Parts of it date back as far as 1185 AD!

The Church of St. Mary, Edwinstowe is a Grade I listed parish church in the Church of England in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, England.
The church is on the west bank of the River Maun and has been dedicated to St Mary since at least 1220 AD. The earliest part of the present building dates from around 1200 but was extended in 1350 when a south aisle was added and again between 1450 and 1500 when a north chapel was built by Ralph de Neville, 1st Earl of Westmorland who rebuilt his manor house nearby at Rokeby Hall (now demolished).
In 1539 during Reformation times it became part of Henry VIII’s Dissolution of Monasteries and passed into private hands though this did not last long and by 1543 had become part of King Henry VIII’s Royal Manor which remained under Royal ownership until 1836 when sold off as farmland called “Edwinstow Grange”.

If you’re looking for a place of worship in Nottinghamshire, St. Mary Magdalene Church is well worth the visit. The building’s tower completion is in 1868, and the rest of it completion by 1882. The church’s architecture is typical of churches from that period. It has a stone exterior and gothic elements throughout its design.
St. Mary Magdalene Church is home to many famous people who were born or lived in Hucknall. This includes poet Alfred Edward Housman (1859–1936), novelist Samuel Butler (1835–1902), and actress Charlotte Riddell (1798–1854).
